Student Loan Debt Relief

The student loan payment pause for loans owned by the Department of Education (ED) ended September 1. Although AES does not service loans owned by ED, and the payment pause did not impact loans we service, we are here to help! If you’re having trouble paying your loans serviced by AES, sign in to your account to review your options.

If you have loans owned by ED and need payment assistance, contact the servicer of your ED owned loans. You can verify the servicer of your ED owned loans by visiting StudentAid.gov.

IDR PROGRAM CHANGES
On April 19, 2022, ED announced several changes and updates related to Income-Driven Repayment (IDR) plans to include adjustments to borrower accounts, several one-time loan forgiveness actions, and new policies. AES services commercially held Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP) Loans. If you wish to benefit from the recent changes you will need to consolidate your loans into a Direct Consolidation loan by the end of 2023. For more information, please visit StudentAid.gov.
