after filling out the application for fafsa how long would it take to recieve the loan.

Ok, class starts about 2 and half weeks. I applied for FAFSA 4 months ago. I just found out this past Monday that I didn’t qualify for pell grant since the school messed up my address and information yet I’m a single mother and work 30 hours a week. Of course I was very upset about this but I wonder how did I not qualify.?! First time ever applying and I’m assumming I’m making too much money. (Only 11 bucks an hour)! They told me I have to fit in some quota. Is it possible for me to try to re-apply again to make sure there isn’t errors? And what sort of loans do you recommend that doesn’t check your credit history if there is any out there. Please help!

I only see the dates for the whole year when I go to fafsa.gov and I’ll be starting school in the spring semester so not exactly sure what to do.

I am planning on transfering to a school far away from where I am currently living and I can’t afford to pay for a place on my own. I was wondering if Financial Aid and the Stafford loan put housing like a studio apartment into consideration.

For example class status implications, or being forced to sign up for more programs than what you seek….etc.

My Sub/Unsub Staffords are @ 6.8 (fixed)
My Grad Plus is @ 8.5
My Consolidated is @ 4.75

I’m graduating medical school this spring and from my understanding there is no benefit to waiting and consolidating later since all my rates are frozen.

MedLoan will give me 0.375% off my weighted average on these loans (6.25-0.375%) as well as a 0.25% discount if I use a direct withdrawl option for payment.

Anything better out there for me?

It has my name & address (which they have anyway), but it also has my account number and bank sort code ~ but no security details. That’s not enough to commit fraud, is it?

They’re a reputable company and wouldn’t ask for it if there was any security risk, would they?

Should I blank anything out before sending them a copy?
The Student Loan Company are just asking me to “help them update their information”.

I graduated last year and I am due to repay the loan from this April.

They’re not asking for money, but need to know how I’m supporting myself: “Evidence of means of subsistence”.

If I have 6000 to pay back to an employer, will a student loan company allow you to take out students loans for classes already completed but being paid back to employer for tuition costs. Or would I have to bite the bullet and take out personal loans to pay back my employer? Any thoughts or anyone every in that postion?
