JP asked:
if they are caught with even a tiny bit of marijuana?
What do you think about this? You should be concerned because many children will at least try it. Can you imagine your child not being able to get federal aid for college if they need it only because they were caught with pot?
Unless you are loaded, or your child gets a free ride scholarship then federal aid is very much needed.

THANK YOU for this information. No, I didn’t know this. I think more importantly that this is a wake up call to talk to our children ealry, more often, and make THEM aware of this. Even though they may not understand the magnitude of this, it may kick in when they are faced with the choice. Speak to your children EARLIER, folks… I certainly will!!
Happy Holidays to all

that is why you need to teach you kids to stay away from that stuff

Kids know that it is against the law and that consequences will occur. Inform them of this fact and the ones that would qualify will not do the drug for fear of not going to school.

Are you kidding me? Ive tried it and I’m in the top of my class with almost a 4.0 GPA. That’s way to harsh. Maybe a harder drug I could understand, but pot? This is dumb.

Aren’t they teaching kids about drugs in health class anymore? I know they did when I took it. And they discussed ALL the consequences. So if a kid chooses to risk his neck like that, oh well, too bad so sad.

I thought you had to be charged with felony drug possession to be barred from federal aid. I could be wrong though…I never used drugs so I never had to find out.

Yes, there are always consequences to all actions. If you are raising your children right, they won’t be one of the ‘many’ (so you say) who have tried it!
