Essentially I have a student loan that I’ve accumilated while getting my B.S. in Computer Science. I don’t enter repayment until another month. I can make payments but I was wondering does anybody know any creative ways to knock off the debt. I know people’s student loans gets canceled all the time for different reasons. I read about cancelation procedures but nothing applys to me. I’m going for my master’s program as well. It states if your going back in school again they can’t continue to bill you for the loan amount. If you transfer the loan to other companies they often give credits off the loan. Is it possible I could just transfer the loan around other companes until it gets paid off LOL????

If you’re a FT student, you won’t have to pay your loans during that time. Just inform your loan holder.
You can also try to get a job with a loan repayment program. Often, say in nursing or medicine, there is such a lack of qualified professionals to work in the inner city, those community health centers offer tuition repayment as part of the benefits. They pay your loans for you! You usually have to committ to working for 1-2 yrs though.

there are public programs that pay a portion of your loans, for instance, the army pays up to 50,000 in student loans. Of course, you may have to agree to spend 8 years in active duty. I suggest searching googling or don’t tak anymore loans.

You could get a job as a teacher. People who teach in some inner city schools or schools on Native American reservations can have a portion of their student loan debt forgiven. Normally, you would be obligated to teach for 2 or 3 years in an underserved school. Since you have a B.S. in computer science, you could easily teach math at a high school.
Is the work challenging? Yes, but it’s also a rewarding experience because you will be helping those who need help most. Try asking your alma mater’s career services department or a big-city school district for more info.
