Can you apply for the federal stafford student loan before you register for your classes?

I have applied to a community college and just gave them my ged last week so i have not actually been accepted yet but the school accepts everyone so that is not an issue. I need to apply for the stafford student loan along with the salli mae community college loan just to pay for tuition. Since i am not even technically a student yet can i apply for these loans?

Your school’s financial aid will assist you with the loans. However, you can speed up the process by going to and filling out the FAFSA application. you’ll need your 2006 tax info to fill it out.

You better before they allocate that funding to someone else! The college will determine your exact amount once you have been admitted.

yes you can start your app. before the school accepts you as long as you have finacial info and the school codes

Yes you can wait even till the end of the semester and apply and still get reimbursment. You want to apply for them beforehand.

Yes, you can. I applied for the grants and loans way before I was even accepted to college. There is a spot on the form where you put potential schools you plan on attending. Just list the school you applied to there.
