If your parents did the plus loan then they signed a MPN(Master Promissary Note) which is the agreement to the loan. That would be done totally seperate from the paper work that you would’ve done for your stafford loan….If you have just staffords then you may be thinking of the forms they filled out for your FAFSA or something else because the staffords are only under the student.

You probably remember your parents signing your FAFSA application. This is to certify that their information on the application (income, assets, ssn’s) were correct… not that they were going to pay any loan money back.
Stafford loans are in your name and you are responsible for paying them back. If you want to have your parents take out loans (in their name) ask for PLUS loans…. these are in their name and you are not responsible to repay them…. your parents are.

To get Stafford loans, the only application you fill out is the FAFSA. So, this has to be what they “signed” concerning your Stafford loans. Of course, they also signed the parent plus as well.
