If i Have qualified for a federal student aid grant, can i use the money before i start college?

need some money asked:
i am going to get a grant from the government for college…but can i use it before i actually start to pay some exsisting bills before i move?

Typically this money is disbursed directly to your school.

I’ve a grant as well, but I don’t se any of the actual money until 6 weeks after classes start, then I get a check for whatever was left over after I’ve paid for all the courses plus books.

No. I know of a lot of students when I was in college who had to wait until after school started before they even got their money.
