   After you have done the FAFSA, contact the school that you are applying to. They may have additional steps that you have to take before receiving a loan. At the school I work for, you are required to attend a loan orientation session before we will certify a loan for you. My school doesn’t release loan funds until after the offical day of the courses that you are in. We hold your classes and you tuition will come directly out of your loans, but the funds don’t get into your possesion until about a month after classes have started. Talk to your school about their policies.
