Is t true that the government write off student loans if you stay out of the country more than 10 years?

SiAnYbAbY….. asked:
I always hear rumours that the government or the inland revenue…not sure which one write off loans if you don’t pay them back within 10years …How true is this?
It’s a good job I won’t be going to that dive of a country known as America…I’m not being cheap I think its classy and cool!

Maybe a rumour, but if it isn’t it does seem a little extreme to excile yourself for ten years to avoid paying off student debt!

I doubt it, though if you remain on a salary of less than 15k for ten years they’ll write them off…
Not really worth it if you can get a raise though!

I know for a fact that this is not true for Americans.
I lived in Asia for ten years, and the balance of my student loans was waiting for me.

If you stay on someones property and set camp and live there for 10 years it becomes your property.
Now as for loans and evading for 10 years, when you eneter the U.S. soil at kennedy Airport, you will be escorted nicely to the IRS station and file ytour taxes …gently as she weeps.

The governemnt always remembers who owes them money, and if you ever have any money again and owe the government you will have it confiscated for sure.
You will be locked up by the police in cells for 90 days without charge. You will be sent threatening letters by courts on a daily basis (if you have an address they can send them to).
