Ok so with a new school year beginning I am in need of a loan, just like 90% of the US college students, and of course I have been denied just like most of America with bad credit!
I was a victim of idenity theft back in 2001 and its runied my credit miserably. I have been unable to pay off my debt because i have been in school, and not working! My family of which have bad credit so they cant co-sign…. So obiviously I have no co-signer!
Now here’s my issue I am transfering to a University thats about 35,000 a yr. My Finanical Aid & My Stafford Loans only cover so much… so i have had to resort to a privite loan to cover the rest of my fees, my books & my computer costs….
The problem holding me back is my bad credit!!! (which wasnt my fault might i add, yet i’m being punnished for it!!)
I have been turned down now by 4 different loan companies: Wells Fargo, Chase, Astrive & Direct Loans….I am at a loss of what to do…..
Does anyone have any advice or ideas for me?
I already have a FAFSA award, a Pell Grant and a Stafford Loan…these were not enough to cover the costs!!
i still owe the school almost 10,000….
I have compiled hours and hours of exhausting the internet and I still havent found a bank willing to take into concideration my situtition….Thus why I resorted to posting here..I AM OUT OF OPITIONS

I understand completely how student loans can give you a headache. I do know that getting the private loan will also bring you more debt. The lender of a private loan has the power to adjust the rates anytime they want and interest alone will go through the roof. I also know that in the even you were to claim bankruptcy (just in case) private loans cannot be erased which means that you would still be liable. I did not have enough to cover so I decided to just withdraw and save up the money. I want to go to school, but putting myself into further debt and numerous credit inquiries as well is not the way.
