my husband and i are planning to purchase a condo. however he has bad credit. i have good credit and we plan to make the loan in my name. is this possible? will his negative file affect my loan application? also, his bad credit is with a bank that keeps its delinquent payers file until up to 10 years. what is the best way to secure the loan application?

if you apply for a conjugal property, his bad credit will really affect yours.

As long as you apply for the loan in your name only and you qualify for it based on your sole income. You shouldn’t have any problems with his credit. Only effects if you are joint on the application.

Do not respond to the answer from Guido. It is a scam itself! No legitimate lender has a generic (i.e., yahoo.com, hotmail.com, etc.) email address. I guarantee when you contact this person, he will inform you that you need to pay a fee up front via Western Union. NO LEGITIMATE lender requires a fee up front!! Good luck.
