You should if your low income, you should qualify for Work-Study and the Pell and SEOG grants. But I would talk to my caseworker and the financial advisor if i where you to make sure.

Actally, receiving supplemental benefits such as welfare, Medi-Cal, food stamps, TANF, unemployment, ect., puts you at the top of the list for Federal Student Aid! Apply for student aid through the FAFSA at and visit as a resource for ALL the major types of federal aid avaliable and How to apply for them.
