Theava asked:
I have only a little credit history and my parents credit is horrible, but I desperately need a private student loan. What company is most likely to qualify me?

I think Astrive. You should not get a co-borrower.

God, stay away from loans at all costs for school. Check out scholarships first or perhaps a small loan from your student association or a centrelink/austudy advance. You could also get a casual job at the drivethrough bottle shop, but just make sure you dont earn to much… get used to living on a knife edge. I got a loan with a particular Bank starting with a rounded type of letter… didnt realise it would turn out to be 100% interest… yes for every dollar they loaned you, they took one of your dollars and you had to repay both dollars… disgusting!!! beware! DO a list of why you need aloan.. for example so many places offer interest free items such as lounges and tvs etc, which you repay slowly… think about public transport seriously, affects your social life but saves a lot of money, if food is the problem check out your diet and look at the black and gold labels for vegies etc,,, save heaps there… n if you play sport ask your club if you can repay small amounts each month… etc etc… break down what you need and be brave and look around at other options… you do not have to take that loan… talk to your student union/counsellor… sure you might experience peer pressure but you will get over it and your friends will be amazed at your resourcefullness right… check your recycle bin… if you have to much stuff you cant recycle then you know you are wasting money…
