Dr. Grandma asked:
I had to retrain due to corporate downsizing and I have a lot of school loans. I don’t think I can repay them all before I retire. The UK forgives loans after the age of 65, but I do not know what provisions are available for non-traditional older students here in the states. Has anyone had a similar experience?

to my knowledge the only forgiving loans are for total and permanent disability though there are several deferment reasons..
